Charter schools are part of the reinvention of public education. They first emerged in the 1990s as a prominent and controversial school reform idea. Parents, teachers, and community organizations are the founders of most charter schools, but some are started by for-profit companies. Charter schools are public schools that have been freed of many restrictive rules and regulations. In return, these schools are expected to achieve specific educational outcomes within a certain period (usually three to five years) or have their charters revoked.
Do you feel Charter schools prepare our students better for the workplace compared to public schools?
Yes Ron I do feel Charter schools prepare our students better for the workplace. They are offer a specific focus in an area of speciality, and I believe this is what enables students to be more focused. It proivides hands-on experience within a field that the student is most interested in pursuing upon entering the workplace.
ReplyDeleteIf that is the case, we should see more charter schools in the future. If charter schools “out class” public schools then maybe public schools will lose funding from the government and eventually close.
ReplyDeleteCharter schools are not on the way "out" but on the way "in"! Much dealing with the perceived inadequicies (SP) of public school!
