New Technology

The other day, I took my daughter and husband to Verizon to upgrade their phones. Danielle (14 yrs.) wanted a phone with a keyboard. My husband on the other hand just wanted something simple. The phone that Danielle wanted was on a buy 1 get 1 deal. Needless to say, my husband wasn't real excited about the idea of the new phone. It was a great example of how technology evolves and some people just can't change with it. I ended up with the new phone and my husband ended up with my phone. My daughter loves her new phone and is already doing things with hers that I haven't even figured out with mine. I'll learn it eventually. I am just amazed at how well the youth does with learning new technology. They just aren't intimidated by it.

  1. Older generations tend to be a bit skeptical about a new phone or computer systems. Many times older people tend to wait until purchasing a new product. Whereas, younger groups tend to embrace technology sooner because they just have what’s new “today.”

  2. I admit, I am kind of an old folgy. I am a person who is a creature of habit. I get used to my phone and then I do not want a new one. I get used to my car and then I do not want a new one. I get used to my computer and then I do not want a new one. The reason being I have to learn how to use it all over again. Am I lazy or scared? I do not know.

  3. I too was hesitant to get a new phone with amazing tech abilities. I LOVE it now!!! It has helped me out in so many situations, including when I have gotten lost or have been given bad directions. Of course it helps me stay in communication with the people in my life, but it also makes my life easier.
